Food Grade β-Glucanase for Plant Extraction
β-Glucanase is a food-grade enzyme preparation specifically developed for plant-based extraction processes. It is designed to efficiently hydrolyze β-glucans and related polysaccharides present in plant cell walls,
particularly in roots, rhizomes, barks, and other fibrous botanical materials. By breaking down high-molecular-weight polysaccharide structures, this enzyme facilitates the release of intracellular components and improves the overall extraction efficiency of target compounds.
This product is a high-efficiency compound enzyme preparation produced using selected microbial strains and refined through submerged liquid fermentation. It is mainly formulated with β-glucanase, and also contains auxiliary activities such as amylase and pectinase. The enzyme combination provides strong synergistic effects. It primarily hydrolyzes high-molecular-weight glucans, branched starch, and amylose, converting them into small-molecule substances such as oligosaccharides and short-chain dextrins. This helps reduce the viscosity of the extract, lowers the risk of clogging, and improves filtration speed.
During herbal and botanical extraction, β-glucans often contribute to high viscosity, slow filtration, and incomplete release of active constituents. β-Glucanase effectively reduces extraction system viscosity by converting complex β-glucans into lower-molecular-weight oligosaccharides and soluble sugars. This results in improved mass transfer, enhanced liquid flow, and easier downstream processing such as filtration and clarification.

Rekomenduojamos naudojimo sąlygos
- Recommended dosage: 0.3–0.5% (based on dry raw material)
- Effective temperature range: 40–55°C
- Optimal pH range: 4.5–6.0
For typical use, plant materials are first soaked in water at room temperature for approximately 30 minutes. The enzyme can be pre-activated at around 40°C for 5–10 minutes before gradual addition into the extraction system. Maintain suitable temperature and pH conditions during enzymatic hydrolysis, which generally lasts around 2 hours, depending on raw material characteristics. After enzymatic treatment, proceed with the standard extraction process.
