Pulp and Paper Enzymes

Liquid and powder enzyme preparations for pulp and paper processing, covering recycled fiber treatment, mechanical and chemical pulping, bleaching, and paper machine wet-end optimization. Technical and food-grade options are available to suit mill-scale operations, from OCC deinking lines to dissolving pulp production. The range is designed to improve drainage, control stickies, reduce lignin and extractives, and lower chemical demand while maintaining sheet strength and runnability. ▸ Read technical details Applications In recycled fiber pulping (OCC, MOW, OMG, ONP), stickies-control enzymes and alkaline lipase preparations hydrolyze ester-based adhesives, pressure-sensitive labels, and resinous contaminants, reducing deposit formation on wires and felts and improving machine uptime. Neutral pectinase (EC 3.2.1.15) and composite fiber-treatment enzymes are applied to secondary fiber pulp to break down pectin and fines, increasing slurry filtration speed and improving drainage on the paper machine. Cellulase (EC 3.2.1.4) and hemicellulase treatments are used for fiber modification and refining optimization, enhancing fiber swelling, fibrillation, and bonding while controlling viscosity. Lignin-reducing and bleaching-support enzymes are dosed prior to or during bleaching stages to promote brightness gain and reduce chlorine dioxide or peroxide consumption. In dissolving pulp and Lyocell-grade cellulose, activation enzymes improve solvent penetration and dissolution performance. Product Range The portfolio includes cellulase (CAS 9012-54-8), lipase (CAS 9001-62-1), cutinase (EC 3.1.1.74), neutral pectinase (CAS 9032-75-1), hemicellulase (CAS 9025-56-3), composite enzyme systems, and specialized stickies-control and bleaching-support formulations. Products are supplied in liquid and powder forms with industrial activity ranges suitable for mill dosing systems, including high-activity liquids (e.g., 50,000 U/g class) for precise metering. Technical-grade and selected food-grade options are available, with documentation to support pilot trials, scale-up, and long-term supply contracts.
