Feed Additive Acid Cellulase Enzymes For Animals
Introduction
The Acid Cellulase [EC 3.2.1.4] is a highly concentrated cellulase preparation produced by submerged fermentation of Trichoderma reesei followed by purification and formulation. Its thermostability and wide working pH range ensure its effectiveness in digestive tracts. This product can hydrolyze 1, 4-beta-D-glycosidic linkages in plant cellulose, lichenin and cereal β-D-glucans. The three active components in the product work cooperatively to degrade cellulose into glucose, where:
- Endo-cellulase (EG) hydrolyzes cellulose randomly to generate reducing and nonreducing ends.
- Exo-cellulase (CBH) further degrades oligomers liberated by EG, releasing cellobiose, which is glucose dimers linked by β-1, 4-glycosidic bonds.
- Beta-glucosidase (BG) can hydrolyze cellobiose into glucose.
Definition Of Unit
1 unit of cellulase equals the amount of enzyme that degrades 4 mg/ml sodium carboxymethyl cellulose to release 1 μmol reducing sugar (in glucose) in 1 min, at 37℃ and pH 5.5.

Functions & Benefits
As a feed additive, it improves animal’s digestibility and immunity; increases its weight gain, milk yield and laying performance.
- Destroys the structure of the cell wall of the botanical feed, completely releasing the nutrients, and increasing nutrient digestion and absorption.
- Reduces viscosity of intestinal tract chyme, eliminates its anti-nutritional factors, and enhances animal performance.
- Improves the micro-ecosystem in the animal intestinal tract, preventing trophic diarrhea.
- Enhances the feed uniformity, reducing the quality difference of feed products caused by feedstuff raw material quality variation.
- Reduces nutrients in the animal excrement, improving the animal house environmental sanitation.
Advantages
- Produced by advanced liquid deep fermentation and extraction technology.
- Fermented from single microbial strain, with different enzymes working together with good cooperativity.
- Thermo-resistant, wide pH range, working effectively in the animal intestinal tract.
- Highly concentrated, offering great cost savings.
