Keratinase

Applications
Keratinase is widely used in animal feed mills to improve the digestibility of keratin-rich raw materials such as feather meal, poultry by-product meal and other protein concentrates. In livestock and aquaculture feed formulations, it supports higher amino acid availability, better feed conversion ratios and reduced reliance on expensive protein inputs. Industrial processors use keratinase enzyme in the hydrolysis of feathers and hair waste to produce soluble protein hydrolysates for feed and fertilizer applications. High-purity grades are also suitable for research, biochemical processing and specialty protein modification where controlled keratin degradation is required.

Specifications & Industrial Use
Keratinase, CAS 9014-01-1, is supplied as a free-flowing powder produced from Aspergillus niger fermentation. Available activity grades include 100,000 U/g and 200,000 U/g feed-grade material, as well as 99% specification powder tested by HPLC; optimum activity is around pH 11 (effective range 6.0–12) and 60°C. Products are offered in feed grade and food/pharmaceutical grade formats, packaged for bulk storage and designed for integration into standard premix, mash, or pelleting operations.
