Protein in the food can be hydrolyzed into micro-molecule peptide or amino acid by bromelain, thus bromelain can be made into a tenderizer for meat, softener for biscuits, for food processing applications. Adding bromelain to cosmetic and personal care product formulations provides enzymatic exfoliation and protein-digesting properties for cleansing products.
